A huge amount of money is distributed as grants and funding every year. Grant-giving trusts and foundations give out over £1.7 billion every year in the UK. The funding for good causes which is raised from Lottery tickets amounts to around £600 million each year. There are also grants from local and central government, from independent grant giving organisations, from sponsorship and from the donations of money and time from millions of individuals.
