Of the poorest areas identified in the Scottish Indices of Multiple Deprivation,
over two thirds are to be found concentrated in Glasgow. Both national and
local government acknowledges the important contribution Faith Communities are
making in the poorest communities. The Transformation Team supports faith
communities in the most deprived parts of Glasgow and is co-funded by Faith
Groups, the Scottish Executive, Local Government and other stakeholders.

My name is Evelyn and I live in Possilpark in Glasgow. A small group of us
have been working with the Transformation Team on a Discovery
Programme. We have learned more about the community around us and have
discovered where new needs exist. We can now share this knowledge with
others within our church and explore ways of meeting these new needs
