J Paul Getty Jnr Charitable Trust Announces Wind Down |

The Trust, one of the largest grant making
trusts in the UK has announced that it is winding down the Trust over a period
of between five and ten years. This means that the Trust will be increasing the
level of annual spend and will be looking for opportunities to award a number
of more substantial grants that will have an enduring impact. The Trust aims to
support projects which help to relieve poverty, support disadvantaged people
and effect long-term change where help is not readily available from the public
or private purse. The Trust also provides funding for the arts, and towards the
conservation of the natural and built environment. The Trust makes grants
through two funding streams. Main grants can be between £10,000 and £250,000
over a period of 1 to 3 years. Small grants of up to £5,000 are also available

The awards are open to registered charities
that are at least three years old, working in a health-related field in the UK,
with a total annual income between £10,000 and £1 million. An overall winner
will receive £35,000, nine other
winners receive £25,000 and up
to ten organisations that are highly commended or runners up receive £5,000 or £3,000. The awards are designed to recognise success and achievements
for existing work. Organisations that win or are highly commended for an IMPACT
Award will be offered free training valued at £3,500 for each organisation. Deadline for applications is 25th

BBC Children in Need Fun and Friendship |

Fun and Friendship is a new £3m grant programme from BBC Children in
Need, which is specifically targeted towards organisations working with
disabled young people between 12 and 18 years. The purpose of the programme is
to help projects to create and enhance opportunities for disabled young people
to meet friends and have a good time, as independently as possible. It will
work with projects that take place over three years, and it expects to make up
to 12 grants of up to £300,000 each across the UK. The final deadline is midnight on 31st July 2009. For more

Comic Relief's UK programmes focus on mental
health, domestic and sexual abuse, refugee and asylum seeking women, sport
change, young people aged 11-25 and local communities. Deadline for the first

The Trust awards grant funding up to a
maximum of £100,000 towards applications for projects from not-for-profit organisations and groups
