A series of 'workouts' designed to equip individuals who may have
responsibility for securing long-term stability for a project or piece
of work. The 'workouts' have been designed as a series and people
involved in long-term projects will benefit most by attending. However,
most workouts are stand-alone and can be attended as a one-off if need
be.
The main elements of the series are:
Getting in Shape
Give your organisation a 'health check', so that funders will be able to see that you are in good shape for funding. Find out how to show funders your organisation is well run and fit.
Lining up a Funder
It's said that finding funding is like making your way through a maze. Where do you start? How do you make sense of the jargon? Who should you approach? Learn about the Transformation Team's 'Ready Reckoner'; an entire kit of funding information and get training on how to get the best out of it.
Making a Difference: the Evaluation Question
This is a one-day workout to introduce the bare essentials for answering the most important evaluation questions from your funders, those using your project, others in the wider community and from yourselves. This is a practical workout where we will be directly using and testing different evaluation methods.
Getting the Edge: making a Competitive Application
With the right preparation and a good plan you can get the edge and improve your chance of success. We will look at how to sell your proposal using evidence to support your claims, set out clear plans to convince funders to support you and sharpen your skills in working your way through those horrible forms.
Meeting the Funders
For those who have participated in the Fit for Funding Programme, there is an opportunity to participate in a 'Funders Marketplace'. Representatives of some of the major funding bodies in Scotland will be there, ready to talk about their funds. Hear what they have got to say about working with faith based organisations and try out your sales pitch; find out how they can help you make a funding application. For further information please contact a member of the team at the number below or contact us by email.
