The Transformation Team delivers training in a number of areas to build up the skills and capacity of Glasgow's faith communities and faith-based organisations. Our training is a mixture of tried and tested training programmes which run frequently throughout the year, and ad hoc toolkits to explore issues relating to community development or one off training designed to tackle a particular need or skills gap within a group or organisation.
Our regular training courses are Fit For Funding and Valuing Volunteers. Fit For Funding is a programme designed to develop skills in securing funding. A series of four workouts over 2 days and 2 evenings, each covering different topics.
- Getting in Shape - an organisational 'health check' before you apply for funding
- Making a Difference -The Evaluation Question - introducing the bare essentials of evaluation in a funding context
- Lining Up a Funder - identifying the most appropriate funders for the work you want to do.
- Getting the Edge - helping you make a competitive application
Valuing Volunteers is designed to help improve their recruitment, retention and management of volunteers. Delivered twice a year, this one-day course provides participants with templates, policies and checklists to enable them to better manage volunteers, as well as a useful networking opportunity for other organisations with needs and issues similar to their own.
The team also has a series of toolkits which we use to help people explore community development concepts and issues, such as storytelling, jargon, understanding communities and participation. These toolkits are designed so they can be delivered by those with no prior knowledge of the concepts, or can be delivered by members of the team. There is more information about our Toolkits in the Toolkits section.
There is no charge for attending the team's training, and expenses are usually paid. For more information on our training programmes, please get in touch.
